The play, through a polished and crystalline writing, but not without momentum, immerses Chiara Mallozzi’s poignant text in a rarefied and intimate atmosphere. The gaze and voice of the observer of the scene, cruel in its everyday simplicity, are those of a child who, while clearly perceiving the girl’s despair and his own impotence in the face of what is happening, transforms pain into hope, darkness into a faint but vivid light. He is there, he observes, he does not despair: his anguish has moved someone: one, maybe two, glances of a distracted world that does not even realise how much pain there can be on a Sunday morning.

Description

The composition of this piece was commissioned by the Fondazione Pietà de’ Turchini to be performed at the festival NapolinCanta, which will have its first edition in 2020 in Naples, with the support of the MIC and the artistic direction of Salvatore Murru.

This piece, together with others, is part of a collection of the same name published by Turchini Edizioni with the aim of making it available for future performances and choral ensembles.

Turchini Edizioni, aware of the fact that choral practice offers children important opportunities to activate processes of growth, integration and relational skills, through this proposal encourages not only the sense of belonging of the very young to the afferent choir, but also a more ambitious projection in a much wider community, activating a process of amplification of benefits at the level of evolutionary experience and artistic growth.
